CAPE TOWN, 25 September 2014 – Western Province continued their comeback at Westlake Golf Club with a clean sweep in the Foursomes against Boland on day four of the 54th South African Inter-Provincial, sponsored by Tempest, on Thursday.

After a first round loss to Central Gauteng, Western Province comprehensively beat Ekurhuleni and Southern Cape to get back into contention

Province started the day just two points behind Central Gauteng, who tops the A-Section log on six points, but with Boland tied on the same score, the host union must win today’s match to have a chance on Friday.

The 2012 joint champions were pretty evenly paced through the first couple of holes, but Province began piling on the pressure when Cameron Johnston and Ian Snyman won 3&2 and Werner Theart and Drew Denyer won 2&1 in the first two games out.

Aaron Russell and Luke Tracodo took the third game 2-up and Gerlou Roux partnered Altin van der Merwe to a 2&1 win in the final game to secure a 4-0 result.

Central Gauteng and neighbours Ekurhuleni drew 2-all, while defending champions Gauteng North won the last two games to square their match against Southern Cape.
