Eden’s Mossel Bay office presents Food Hygiene session in Greatbrak River

Eden District Municipality’s Mossel Bay office presented a formal information session in Greatbrak River to build up momentum towards World Environmental Health Day that will be commemorated on Friday, 26 September 2014.

This information session that was presented in the form of a video clip mainly focused on food hygiene.  After the video clip was presented, sufficient time was allocated for the participants to raise questions, in order to fully understand the content of the subject.

The 9 person who participated in the activity are food handlers that are working at or are owners of butcheries and restaurants at the Langstraat Mall located in Greatbrak River.

Eden’s Assistant Head:  Municipal Health for the Langeberg region, Mr Sam Bendel, who presented the session, with much enthusiasm said that the participants were very surprised with the content presented to them, as well as the owner of the Locals Pub & Grill, where the session was presented.

Bendel further said that the relevant persons who attended the session will be visited prior to the busy festive period in December 2014 to observe whether the information that was presented to them is indeed applied within their various work environments.   “In our attempt to reach more formal businesses in the Langeberg region, we plan to visit more businesses during quiet business hours in the near future with the same project in mind, “ Bendel added.
