Monday 6th October marks the start of South Africa’s second Car Pool Week. The initiative urges commuters to drive to their destination together to reduce the amount of the cars on the road.
Online classified Gumtree is endorsing the project by encouraging their customers to sign up for car pools. “There are hundreds of requests and offers of lift clubs on the site at the moment,” says Claire Cobbledick, Head of Marketing. “Especially over the holiday season where people travel long distances. By sharing a hundred kilometres with just one person, you are saving R68 (if you split the cost).”
