Cape Town – FlySafair has announced flight operations between Cape Town and George have officially started on Thursday.
The airline said the new flight schedule comes after the recent commencement of its scheduled operations between Cape Town and Johannesburg and Cape Town to Port Elizabeth.
Momentum has been building on this important coastal leisure destination, as only a week ago FlySafair also announced new service to be added to both George and Port Elizabeth from its second base at Johannesburg’s OR Tambo airport, with services commencing on 3rd December in time for the festive season.
“We are extremely happy with our progress and our bookings over the last few weeks, and have no doubt that this upward trend will continue with the operational launch of our third route,” explains Lorna Terblanche, VP Passenger Services.
The airline says that is has been inundated with calls through to their call centre as well as online bookings since taking flight in mid-October.
“We have certainly received a warm welcome from the South African flying public, further supporting our decision to introduce our new low cost model into the market. At the same time, we have seen a significant number of first time flyers join us on onboard thanks in large part, we believe, to our value fares and the ability to tailor make your ticket,” said Terblanche.
FlySafair offers passengers a base fare from R499* between Johannesburg and PE, George and Cape Town; and R399* between Cape Town and Port Elizabeth and George (*including taxes). These fares secure passengers their seat, along with two pieces of hand luggage weighing no more than 7kgs combined.
