David Meulen performing at Mini Folk Fest 30 Nov V&A Watterfront

David Meulen and his band will be performing at the Mini Folk Festival at V&A Waterfront on Sunday 30 November. They will be on stage at 18h15. David is looking forward to this fun show as a kick off to the December holidays: “We’ll be playing my original compositions including the radio hit “Remember Me?”, all the way to the back end of my debut album “@davidmeulen.” You might even get a sneak peak of a brand new song or two! We’re excited to see all your lovely faces and jam next to some of the best acts in the country right now. Come along, say hi, bring a pal – This one will be memorable!” Other artists featuring on the bill for the afternoon include Touchwood, Mark Fransman, Jennifer Eaves, Fruit Vendor and more.

David Meulen`s debut album was released in April 2014. The 12 track album features an eclectic mix of well-known artists. Legendary Johnny Clegg drummer Barry Van Zyl features prominently on drums and percussion, with Dirty Skirts virtuoso Maurice Paliaga and Kyle Dijkstra (live show bassist for David Meulen) coming in to create a solid backbone. Evelyn Hart provides an alternate bass sound on the lower register of her piano. The blues harp king Lonesome Dave Ferguson appears on a few of the bluesier tracks. Close friend and poet Jessi Howell came in to collaborate on the lyrics in some of the songs. She also created the characters that are featured on the album cover.
