PICK YOUR OWN PICNIC AT CELLARBAKE@NITIDA
(Cape Town, February 2015) Cellarbake@Nitida, the annual bake and wine pairing festival hosted at Cassia’s wedding venue on Nitida Wine Farm, will be setting the festive scene on March 22nd, showcasing a plethora of the Western Cape’s finest artisanal bakers sharing their signature dishes. Mediterranean Delicacies will be accompanying the occasion with a variety of savoury snack options for the perfect picnic feast.
Nestled between the rolling hills of lush greenery in the Durbanville Winelands is Nitida Wine Farm, just a short 20 minute drive from Cape Town’s CBD. Overlooking a tranquil lake besides the vineyards, the venue boasts the ideal location for lazy summer picnics with family and friends, whilst the indulgent hustle and bustle continues indoors at Cassia to the beat of the renowned South African band, Newton & Co. Hand woven baskets will be available for purchase from Cape Town Society for the Blind, adding another smile to a feel good fiesta.
With glass in hand, the variety of exhibitors and stalls create a fun and interactive day filled with fabulous wedding and baking ideas running from 11am through to 6pm. For creative individuals there is an option to enjoy some hands-on cupcake decorating and plenty of activities for the kiddies with jumping castles, face painting and lifeguard-accompanied boat rides across the lake.
Nitida is a family run wine farm, known for its double gold multi-award winning hand-made wines and MCCs fit for a discerning palate.
Tickets for the event are available through Webtickets at a cost of R100 per person which includes 5 bake and wine pairing experiences, or R50 for those who wish to taste the baked goods without the paired wine. The exhibiting bakers include Queen of Tarts, Whipped, Arugula Bistro and Bread and Whimsical Cupcakes to name but a few.
