SWD bounced back from a crushing defeat in the Sunfoil 3-Day Cup match on Friday when they chased down a competitive Griquas total with 9 balls to spare in their CSA Provincial 50 Over Challenge clash.
SWD won the toss and put Griquas in to bat. Thanks to a century by Diego Rossier, the visitors were able to post 238/8 in their allotted 49 over. Marcello Piedt was the best of the bowlers, claiming 3/50 in his 10 overs.
In reply, openers Neil Hornbuckle [71] and Sammy-Joe Avontuur [18] put on 61 for the first wicket. Rod McMillan [52] and Marcello Piedt [30 not out] saw the home side over the line in the 47’th over.
