
SWD’s ambition to qualify for the Sunfoil Three Day Cup final was blown away by Griqualand West over the weekend when they went down by an innings and 77 runs.
In a match that was played at the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn the local team displayed their worst batting performance in a long time as Griquas wrapped up the match within two days. Putting in to bat, SWD were dismissed for only 88 runs in their first innings.
Left arm seamer, Jan Frylinck (7/32) who bagged ten wickets in the match, was in great form as SWD failed the get any batting bonus points. Griquas responded with a first innings total of 266 for a lead of 178 runs before they dismissed SWD for 101 runs.
