The Johannesburg International Motor Show celebrates a milestone in October with the staging of the 10th edition of Africa’s leading motoring event which is one of the top 10 automotive exhibitions globally.
“Preparations for the show are well underway to ensure a spectacularly successful event” stated Nico Vermeulen, director of NAAMSA (National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa). “We have introduced a number of initiatives to refresh the show and ensure that the 10th edition remains one of the world’s leading motor shows”. These initiatives are intended to enhance the value proposition for exhibitors as well as the experience of visitors.
Foremost among these new features is the Galleria celebrating the car as a modern art form. The Galleria features a hall dedicated to Exotic Cars and Supercars displayed in an art gallery environment.
The hall will also accommodate a display of photographic entries from South Africa’s leading motoring photographers. The Galleria also honours artists who dedicate their art to cars and will feature automotive art including sculptures, paintings, wood carvings and notable wire art.
The 2015 edition sees the introduction of a show stage featuring a jam-packed programme of events. On-stage personalities from the Ignition Television team will host presentations, discussions on the new models launched at the show as well as a show reel of notable motoring advertisements.
