Although the SWD Women’s team’s aspirations to be promoted to the premier division of the Cricket South Africa (CSA) Women’s competition got a serious blow with their recent defeat against Border they will be confident to prove a point against Eastern Province. The SWD ladies will host Eastern Province at the REC in Oudtshoorn in their last round of matches in the CSA Women’s Challenge this weekend.

After a confident start with victories against Kei and Griquas the SWD ladies lost both the fifty over match (by 88 runs) and the Twenty/20 encounter by seven wickets against Border in East London.

Border, at 15 points after four matches, are currently the log leaders in Pool A followed by SWD (10 points after 3 matches) and Eastern Province (10 points after two matches).  SWD will be confident in having home ground advantage for the fifty over match that will takes place on Saturday and the Twenty20 match that is scheduled for Sunday.

The SWD will be selected from the following squad: Haroline Rhodes (captain), Mochelle May, Micaela Andrews, Bianca Figeland, Janè Winster, Bianca Taute, Jeneviwe Jantjies, Hedwigg Pienaar, Marnazelle Rabie, Judith Ndlovu, Annemie Koen, Sanelisiwe Mgqobhozi, Esmerelda Francies and Kaylene Abrahams
