Zach Johnson: Fairway eagle the turning point in ZJ’s win
Zach Johnson recorded a 2-up victory over Branden Grace in today’s first round of the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Match Play Championship.
Grace had the early handle until ZJ holed out for eagle from the fairway at the par-4 sixth hole to even the match. The American took the lead with a par-4 at the seventh, but would tumble back to all square a couple of times until grabbing the advantage for good with birdie at the par-4 14th. Grace kept lockstep with a par-birdie-par run, but needed to win the last to force sudden death. Alas, Johnson got the last laugh with a birdie on the par-5 18th where Grace settled for par. Johnson draws Charley Hoffman in Thursday’s second round. Grace, who is now a career 0-3 in this event, will face off against Jason Day.Apr. 29 – 6:14 pm et

Louis Oosthuizen: Oosthuizen crushes Keegan Bradley at the WGC
Bogey-free Louis Oosthuizen annihilated Keegan Bradley 6 and 5 in the first round of the World Golf Championships-Cadillac Match Play Championship.
Despite success in team competitions, time has proven that Bradley is not built for this format. He’s now a mere 1-4 in the Match Play. But few would have had a chance against Oosthuizen today. Setting the tone right out of the gate, Bradley birdied the par-5 first and lost to the South African’s eagle. Oosthuizen won holes with both of his other par breakers (birdies), but Bradley’s self-inflicted damage was even worse as the American lost four holes with bogeys to Oosthuizen pars, including a 4 at the par-3 13th where the match ended, and not soon enough. Oosthuizen will carry his form into Thursday’s second-round bout with Miguel Angel Jiménez. Once Bradley is done licking his wounds, he’ll see if he can turn it around against Bubba Watson.
