Human Relation Skills

tccstAnyone in a work situation or working in a team needs to know how to handle and get on with people, to exercise judgment and tact and to treat people well by caring for them and being concerned about them.  We should also learn to be thoughtful, considerate, loyal and trustworthy.  If the atmosphere is pleasant, co-operative, considerate and accepting, everyone will be more motivated and more productive.

We can use basic human needs to help us motivate and handle people.  We are all motivated by these needs, and if we can recognize a need in another human being it will help us to know how to react and help the person to be satisfied.

People need to feel recognized or appreciated for their abilities or skills.  Try to say only positive words to people.  Criticism should be constructive, emphasizing the positive and underplaying the negative.  Suggest or ask, rather than order or demand.

People need to feel effective, efficient and fulfilled.  Allow others around you to develop, grow and experience fulfillment in their work by allowing them some responsibility, autonomy, control and recognition.

The success of a relationship will thus depend on the parties playing harmonizing and not conflicting roles.

IF YOU CANNOT RELATE TO THIS, YOU NEED TO START WORKING ON YOUR INNER SELF.
