Tsogo Sun’s popular Slots Factor tournament is back for the third year running, with a record total of R2.4 million in prize money and a guaranteed first prize of R1 million. The slots tournament will run for eight weeks from 20 July to 26 September across Tsogo Sun’s 14 casinos around the country.
“We’ve been delighted at the enthusiastic response we have had to our first two Tsogo Sun Slots Factor tournaments – and this year we are making it bigger and better,” says Steve Hight, Tsogo Sun’s Director of Gaming.
Once again, the buy-in price of R100 cash makes the tournament accessible to everyone and entitles the participant to one entry into the tournament. “Every cent of the buy-ins across the 14 casinos contributes to the final prize money, which means it could increase by the time we reach the end of the tournament,” says Hight. The unit finals at each casino will take place on 19 September and the group finals will take place at Suncoast Casino on 25 and 26 September.
This year, Tsogo Sun has introduced packaged buy-ins, which include R200 for two tournament entries and R50 in Casino FreePlay, and R500 for five tournament entries and R150 in Casino FreePlay, valid for the day of play only.
Also new this year, the participant obtaining the highest score from a single buy-in or heat at each casino over the eight-week period will qualify for the grand finals at Suncoast Casino without having to play off in the individual casino finals.
“We’re also awarding Casino FreePlay prizes to the top daily credit earners in the tournament, which we believe will add to the fun and excitement on the floor,” adds Hight.
Last year’s winner, Janet Barrows from Jan Cillierspark in the Free State representing Goldfields Casino, walked away an instant millionaire. The tournament saw over 18 000 slots fans buy in for just R100 to secure the opportunity to win their share of a guaranteed prize pool of R1.8 million.
“This tournament has quickly become a highlight on our annual gaming calendar for many of our players and we look forward to once again offering a thrilling experience to both the participants and the spectators throughout the eight-week tournament,” says Hight. “The wonderful thing about a game of chance is that absolutely anyone can win!”
