The 2015/16 cricket season will kick-off this weekend with the Western Cape Academies tournament that will be hosted in Oudtshoorn. The aim of the tournament will be to finalise and select the Western Cape Franchise Academy team that will participate in the Cricket South Africa Franchise Academies tournament that will be hosted by SWD Cricket in Oudtshoorn between15-19 September 2015.
The SWD Academy team is: Hanno Kotze (captain), Jaco van Greunen, Wian Oosthuizen, Nelson Setimati, Cresendo Maksella, Eldin Rossouw, Coenraad Nel, Ayabonga Khitshini, Johandre Barnard, Mtobeli Bandingawo , Eathan Coeries, Ottniel Baartman, Lance Roelfse and Gary Wagner. Andre Du Plessis is the Academy/High Performance Coach.

Friday 28 August (50 overs format): SWD Academy vs Western Province Academy (REC Ground), Boland Academy vs SWD XI (Military Sport Club)
Saturday 29 August (50 overs format): SWD XI vs WP Academy (Military Sport Club), SWD Academy vs WP Academy (REC Ground)
Sunday 30 August (T20 format): SWD Academy vs SWD XI (REC Ground), Boland Academy vs WP Academy (Military Sport Club)
