The municipality says despite the favourable forecast consumers are still encouraged not to waste water.
With reports of a water shortage in South Africa, Eden District in the Western Cape say more restrictions in the coming months are unlikely due to heavy winter rainfall.
Authorities say the recent showers have left most of the dams in the region at full capacity with some even overflowing in parts of the little Karoo.
But the municipality’s Wouter Jacobs says despite the favourable forecast consumers are still encouraged not to waste water.
“At this stage there is no water restriction in Eden and the good rains we received made the probability of it less.”
