A Golden Award and Two Standing Ovations for Dana Winner
In the afterglow of Dana Winner’s Special Arena shows which took place this past weekend in Jo’burg and the Mother City, both the public and media whom attended this spectacular event admittedly hailed it as a “mesmerising experience” and a “special concert”. Belgian Superstar Dana Winner and the incredible orchestra who accompanied her left the audience completely awestruck while she performed a fantastic set-list filled with all her memorable hits and surprising her audiences with many new songs.
A sold out Carnival City was the kick-off for both Special Arena Shows and Dana wowed her audiences with all her biggest hits, including: “Sproetjies”, “In Love With You”, “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” and “Droom Van My Geluk”. At the first Special Arena Show Dana was also honoured with a gold status award for her latest album Bloom. An emotional Dana Winner humbly accepted the award and stated to all present that she truly loves the country so much and she wants to be back very soon. Subsequently Dana gave a big “thanks” to the team of “Stars In SA” and said they must start planning the next tour very soon.
After the success of the second Special Arena Show in Cape Town on Saturday night Dana’s South African promoter and agent, Hugo Foets, hinted that there is a big chance that Dana will be back very soon: “As much as the South Africans are carrying Dana in their hearts, Dana carries all of them in her heart too. I am confident that it will not be too long before we open tickets sales for the next tour. This could possibly allow Dana to perform in other places like Bloemfontein, PE or Nelspruit. Even though Dana bids adieu to SA (for the time being), the entire Stars in SA team are hard at work on their latest project in bringing their next production, the BZN – Greatest Hits Tour, to South Africa. Goue Toekenning en Twee Goue Vertonings vir Dana Winner.
Na afloop van Dana Winner se twee Special Arena Shows wat die naweek plaasgevind het in beide Johannesburg te Carnival City asook by die Grand West Arena in Kaapstad, was is die gehore en media stom geslaan oor dié uitmuntende produksie. Belgiese superster Dana Winner en haar puik orkes het die gehore behoorlik bekoor met haar grootste asook nuutste treffers wat sy met hart en siel opgevoer het.
‘n Uitverkoopte Carnival City was die eerste van twee Special Arena vertonings en het Dana die gehore betower met talle treffers, onder andere: “Sproetjies”, “In Love With You”, “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers”, en natuurlik “Droom Van My Geluk”. Op dieselfde aand het Dana ook ‘n spogerige toekenning ontvang vir goue status vir haar nuutste album Bloom. Dana het dié toekenning nederig (en emosioneel) ontvang en aan almal verklaar hoe Suid-Afrika baie na aan haar hart is en dat sy beslis binnekort weer terug sal wees. Sy het ook die puik span van Stars in SA hartlik bedank en hul beveel om sommer dadelik die volgende toer te begin beplan.
Namate die sukses van die tweede vertoning in Kaapstad Saterdag-aand het Dana se Suid-Afrikaanse promoter en agent genoem dat Dana moontlik weer Suid-Afrikaanse gehore sal vermaak gouer as wat ons dink. Mnr. Foets het verklaar dat: “Soveel soos wat Dana gekoester word in die harte van haar talle Suid-Afrikaanse aanhangers, koester sy hul net so, selfs meer, in haar eie hart.” Mnr. Foets het verder genoem dat daar verseker ‘n goeie kans is dat daar moontlik binnekort weer kaartjies te koop sal wees vir die volgende Dana Winner toer, en dat die toer Dana sal toelaat om by plekke soos Bloemfontein, Port-Elizabet en selfs Nelspruit op te voer. So gepraat van ander produksies- die span van Stars in SA is klaar besig met die organisasie en beplanning van hul volgende projek, die BZN – Greatest Hits Tour. Hierdie landswye toer, wat afskop eind Oktober, sal die oorspronklike BZN stemme van Jan Keizer en Anny Schilder na verhoë regoor Suid-Afrika bring en beloof om ‘n produksie soos geen ander te wees nie.
