SWD CRICKET received a welcomed financial injection today when they announced a team sponsorship agreement with Canon SWD for the Africa T20 Cup.
SWD will be in action in this inaugural competition this weekend when they together with Free State, Gauteng and Kenya lock horns at Bloemfontein’s Mangaung Oval to determine the winners of Pool D and the final qualifying position for the semi-finals.
“We have a long association with SWD Cricket and are proud to be involved with an organization that strives for excellence and is a respected business partner,” commented Marcel de Ridder, Business Director for Canon SWD. “SWD has shown tremendous growth and results both on and off the field and we are looking forward to their Africa T20 Cup campaign.”
Albertus Kennedy, CEO of SWD Cricket, commented: “The Africa T20 Cup is an ideal sponsorship property especially as most of the matches will enjoy live television coverage. Having a world-class player like Vernon Philander in our team provides an extra platform to recruit potential sponsors for such an event.”
SWD President, Rudi Claassen, commented: “We thank Canon SWD not only for their support now but for their contribution to our development programmes over a period of time. I am sure their involvement will be a huge boost to our players and to the game generally in our area.”
