“There’s no doubt that domestic vehicle sales are under pressure in South Africa due to the tough prevailing economic climate, however Ford has maintained impressive year-on-year growth despite the tough trading conditions,” says Gerhard Herselman, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa General Manager, Sales.

“The Ranger continues to set trends in the light commercial vehicle sector, and this will be stepped up a gear when we roll out the exceptional new model this month.” Total sales for the Ranger reached 2 865 vehicles in September, representing a year-to-date increase of 30.8%.

“It’s also encouraging seeing that demand for the EcoSport continues unabated, claiming its title as leader in the compact SUV segment with 919 sales in September.”

The Ford Fiesta once again stood out with its combination of exceptional value, award-winning and highly efficient 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine, plus its impressive range of smart technologies with 933 sales for the month.

Similarly, the even more sophisticated Ford Focus topped out on 486, making this the third highest sales for this year.

Ford still has several new model launches scheduled for the final quarter of 2015. The all-new Everest has already been launched: the Figo and Ranger to follow later this month.
