Dear Ladies and Gentlemen
It has been just over a month since my return from a successful trip to South Africa. I had a busy trip in South Africa where I was to hand out prizes to this year’s winners of the SkryfNet children’s writing competition. I found myself heading to the major cities of the country to meet the talented young writers. I was inspired by the dedicated parents and teachers of the schools that I visited and I am optimistic about the future.
I initially travelled to Hillcrest, KZN to hand out the runner up prize for 6-9 year old category, the next day I flew to Cape Town to meet the winner of the 6-9 year old category and the runner up of the 10-13 year old category, finally I travelled to Port Elizabeth to meet the winner of the 10-13 year old category.
I hope that more children will be inspired to write in for next year’s competition. I would like to thank you and your organisation again for your assistance in publicizing the competition and hope that we can do it again next year.
