SWD will travel to Pretoria this weekend where they will take on Northerns at Supersport Park in Centurion. Northerns will field a strong team and Waldo Lategan and his troops will be keen really make an impact and to record their first outright victory in the Sunfoil Three Day competition. Both teams will however keep an eye on the weather forecast in Pretoria for the weekend.
Erinn Ewerts and Otneill Baartman recovered from injury but Siya Simetu received a call up to the Cobras for their RAM Slam T20 campaign and his absence will leave a big void in the spin bowling department. Hanno Kotze is not available due to exams.
SWD will be encouraged by the promising performances of Brendon Louw (batting) during recent matches but it is especially in the three day match where they will need to lift their performance.
In the one day competition, SWD won two out of their two fixtures and a third consecutive victory will give them an early advantage in their title aspirations.
The SWD team for the three day match is: Waldo Lategan (captain), Luthando Mnyanda, Neil Hornbuckle, Sammy-Joe Avontuur, Brendon Louw, Erinn Ewerts, Nelson Setiman, Siyabonga Booi, Glenton Stuurman and Gurshwin Rabie. Pieter Stuurman and Otneill Baartman will be added for the one day team.
