
The SWD Women’s Cricket team on Saturday recorded an impressive 3 wicket victory against Border in the Cricket South Africa Women’s Competition.
In the match that was played at the REC Ground in Oudtshoorn Border was dismissed for 108 thanks to a brilliant bowling performance by Monique Booysen (6/22 in 8.1 overs). SWD got the winning runs (109/7) in the 34th over to earn a very important bonus point victory.
Micaela Andrews (31; 55 balls, 1×4) and Haroldine Rhodes (19*; 58 balls) were the top performers with the bat for the home side.
In the Twenty20 match that was played on Sunday Border turned the honours around with an easy 60 runs victory. The visitors posted 117/4 and restricted SWD for 67. Angelique Taai (53*) was the batting hero for Border whilst the bowling of Nosipho Tayi (5/4) and Maryka Kirchoff (2/14) created havoc under the SWD batters.
