The Department of Labour’s Employment Equity (EE) reporting season using electronic submissions closes on Friday (January 15).
In terms of the amended EE Act of 2013 employers are by law required to submit their employment equity report plans. The reports relate to demographic profile, representation in the organisations structure and EE plans to eliminate discrimination and inequity in the workplace.
There were 24 291 Employment Equity reports received in 2014.
The EE reporting season opened on 1 September 2015 for both manual and online reporting. Manual reporting submissions closed on 1 October 2015. The online reporting will close on 15 January 2016.
The 2015 reporting season was preceded by a series of EE national roadshows held by the Department of Labour’s EE Directorate, in which the department sought to encourage and inform designated employers on successful EE reporting, with special focus on publicising the Amended Employment Equity Act and EE Regulations.
The EE roadshows held under the theme: “Transformation – makes business sense” – were designed to publicize the Code of Good Practice on Equal Pay/Remuneration for Work of Equal Value; publicize the regulated employment equity templates (EE Analysis-EEA12 & EE Plan-EEA13); and to encourage designated employers to submit EE Reports On-Line.
