Pirates United (130 all out) is the new log leaders in the Sedgars SWD Premier League competition after they defeated Pacaltsdorp United (110 all out) by 20 runs in a tight contest on Saturday.
Western Hope and Mossel Bay both boost their positions with bonus point victories against Harlequins and Blanco respectively. Western Hope, thanks to an unbeaten innings by Douglas Baartman (43*) posted 183 before they dismissed Harlequins for a modest 67 thanks to a fine bowling performance by with Enverino Swartz (4 for 9) and Ronald Dirks (4 for 11). Siya Simetu was instrumental to restrict Blanco to only 104 runs where after Mossel Bay reached the target (105/6) in the 28th over to record a four wicket victory.
Sussex posted 156 and thereafter dismissed George for 76 to record a comprehensive victory by 80 runs. Rowan Groenewald (5 for 29) and Regarth Olkers (3 for 2) were the bowling heroes for Sussex.
