We had an outstanding year in 2015 and now we are looking towards an even more prosperous 2016. The 2016 SWD Club Rugby fixtures have been released and were circulated to all clubs.

There are a few eye-catching fixtures that will no doubt make for enthralling viewing. In the Premier on 5 March , Evergreens host Barbarians in Pacaltsdorp , Progress host NMMU in their opening game. Bridgton vs Blanco , newcomers Swellendam host Crusaders , Groot-Brak play Silver Stars.
In another intriguing matchup is in the President League (Kus) on 2 April , Bitou host Maori’s who blew away all comers last year but it remains to be seen whether they can make the step up to the Premier League , Happy Hearts host Jaquars in Brandwag and will look to cause a major upset in their debut President League campaign. George vs Eagle Stars and Mosselbaai play Thistles on the Van Riebeeck Stadium.
President League (Langeberg) first round fixtures will be posted after the play-off match on 16 March Ladismith and Buffaloes.
President League (Karoo) , Harlequins host Uniondale in what will no doubt be a feast of running rugby. Beaufort-West host Willing Hearts , Willowmore vs All Blacks , Spring Roses host Collegians who will be looking to make a big statement.
Although the club rugby season only begins in March/April , excitement is already building within the club ranks ahead of what promises to be another gripping season. Clubs are in the midst of pre-season preparations with a host of friendly matches having been arranged.
