Danone has been awarded the much-coveted prize of Product of the Year for 2016 in the food category, as voted by South African consumers.
Votes were tallied via a survey of 5000 people, by Nielsen and the results have placed two of Danone’s products in the winner’s circle. Danone’s NutriDay Smooth and Fruit range won Product of the Year in the yoghurt category and Ultra Mel Vanilla Flavoured Custard claimed the Product of the Year prize in the custard category.
Product of the Year is the world’s largest organisation that is dedicated to recognizing and rewarding innovation. The process is unique in that although a panel of experts from diverse fields selects finalists, the public selects the winners, and Nielsen, the world’s largest research company, facilitates this process. The best products of 2016 were celebrated at a Product of the Year Night, held on the evening of the 24th of February 2016.
“Danone is very proud to have won Product of the Year for two categories” says Sandra Dorville, Communication Manager at Danone South Africa. “We deem this recognition of innovation particularly prestigious as consumers have the final say. As the leader in both the yoghurt and custard category, we are committed to continuously satisfy our customers with our quality products and these awards show that the proof is in the pudding.”
Danone’s Ultra Mel custard consists of 80% milk and is known for its creamy texture. Loved by many households, this dessert can be served warm or cold.
With an offering of 27 flavours across the NutriDay Smooth and Fruit range, NutriDay makes for the perfect smart snack solution. NutriDay does not only bring you the benefits of yoghurt but also the pleasure of enjoying a creamy and delicious snack, any time of the day.
Danone has been operating in South Africa for 15 years and are committed to serving consumer preference.
