TriSport SA is excited to announce a new Partner coming on board for their Flagship Event, the very popular 3 day Southern Cross Trail Run.
RCS will now be the Title Sponsor, with the previous naming sponsor, AFB, staying involved as Supporting Sponsor, together with another new Partner, Retail Capital. This exciting Stage Event has quickly become one of the most sought after Trail races on the South African trail calendar. 2016 will feature the 5th running of the Event, and its unique concept of offering Athletes 3 completely different terrains each day, has proven to be a winning formula. The Event has gone from strength to strength, with some of the top SA Runners accepting the challenge of the trails in the Mountains, through the Forrest and along the magnificent Garden Route coast line.
COO of RCS, Regan Adams, says: “At RCS we are committed to promoting a healthy and well balanced lifestyle and are proud of our association with running over the years. We have taken our commitment to the running community further and are very excited to be the Title Sponsor for the 2016 SOX Trail Run event. We look forward to experiencing the Garden Route while participating in the most diverse and beautiful 3 day Trail Run in South Africa.”
Hano Otto, Course Director of the SOX route is very excited about additional new developments with the Race. “The SOX route is unique and absolutely breath-taking! With this 5th edition, we have decided to add on a SOX Lite option for Runners that cannot handle 80km of challenging trails and are missing out on the beauty of the Garden Route. The “Lite” route will cover only 50km over the course of 3 days, in the Outeniqua Mountains, through the indigenous Forests and along the stunning Wilderness coastline. Next year, the Lite Runners will want to come back for more!”
Marketing Manager of AFB, Kyle van der Boon, says: “afb is proud to be involved with one of the top multi-stage trail events in South Africa. The event takes trail runners through some of the most beautiful and diverse stages in trail running today. We are looking forward to SOX 2016 and the introduction of SOX Lite!”
Retail Capital is another new Partner. CEO of Retail Capital, Karl Westvig, is an avid Trail Runner himself, and has participated in a number of previous Southern Cross Events in the past few years. “SOX is an incredible multi-stage trail event, taking in three vastly different terrains – it is a unique experience and should be shared by all trail runners! The SOX Lite makes it more accessible for all. Retail Capital is proud to be part of the new improved SOX!”
Founder of TriSport SA, Sonja Terblanche-Otto, said yesterday that 2016 will offer a number of new features for SOX participants. “SANParks have been absolutely fantastic in their support of the Event. The routes through the Garden Route National Park are mind blowing. We are so excited to be able to offer this experience to SOX Lite runners as well. The Fairy Knowe Hotel in Wilderness will be our Race Village – the route towards the Finish on Day3 is an Adventure on its own! We are blessed with new Partners for our Flagship Event in these difficult economic times. RCS, afb and Retail Capital are realising not only our dreams, but also those of many Trail Runners across the country. They are not just looking after financial health, but also investing in the physical health of people.”
The RCS Southern Cross 3 day Trail Run will take place over the long weekend of 6 – 8 August 2016. The field is limited, so Participants should not hesitate to enter online at: www.trisport.co.za
