This is the new fresh sound to hit the streets of Cape Town. Combine an eclectic fusion of electronic, jazz and house with some edgy tribal sounds, add a few quirky toys and a looping machine – and you’ve LegoLoop. This Italian duo – Francesca and Riccardo – are pushing the boundaries of the avant guarde muso-artiste! This is an act that simply must be seen, LIVE. Franscesca’s otherworldly sensuality and syrupy voice combined with Riccardo’s high energy percussion and mixing, make them a potent duo of performance, poetry and passion. LegoLoop is a tour-de-force on the music scene. Bold, imaginative and quirky – these are performers of the highest order. Step onto their musical carpet ride and you’ll be transported to a world of new sights and sounds. Check them out…..https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLRLcAIrn1o

“LONESOME” DAVE FERGUSON is a one-man lo-fi-hi-impact explosion of Trans-Blues & Country-Dub. This solo show uses only harmonica, human beat-box and vocals, recording live loops and then layering and building those loops to construct a song… Although it’s a solo act it’s not your typical singer-song-whiner type show, expect more in your face dance-style grooves served up in a Deep-South style…“LONESOME DAVE, A ONE-MAN-MUSIC-MAVERICK THAT SENDS YOU INTO A TIMEWARP OF WARM, DEEP SOUTHERN SOUL, BLUES & COUNTRY SOUNDS, MIXED UP WITH A GOOD MEASURE OF FOOTSTOMPING DUB FUNK AND DANCESTYLE GROOVES. RAW, RETRO-FUTURISTIC GENIUS…” – Heartbeat cover story issue 02 2011

Only a few artists have been able to master live‐looping and turn it into an art‐form. Reinhardt Buhr (AKA Wild Lettuce) is one of those individuals making his mark on the SA music circuit. Hailing from Wildernis near George, he started gigging just on the nylon‐string acoustic guitar and has since added Australian didgeridoos, an electric cello, drum machine, percussion, beat‐boxing and even uses a phone app to include a more modern dub‐step style element to some of his songs. Buhr is completely self taught which is hard to believe when you see how he masters the instruments on stage. He prides himself on the diversity of his music and calls it “World Fusion Instrumental” which about sums it up as you really can’t box it into any one style or genre.
