Feast on the Seasons: Winter Cookery Retreat 8-10 July 2016 Temenos Retreat, McGregor, Western Cape The food we eat and the way we prepare it is an integral part of the way we experience health and vitality. This exciting weekend retreat explores how we can improve our well-being by simply living in closer harmony with the seasons – through the food ingredients we select, the supplements we choose, and the spirit in which we conduct our lives at different times of the year. The Winter diet is a celebration of all the most hearty and warming foods that help to keep us nourished during the chilliest time of the year. Join Daniel as he presents a Winter feast using the most delectable, and affordable, seasonal ingredients. Expect a celebration of health-giving comfort foods with handy suggestions on how to get the most from best seasonal produce, and useful tips on buying and storing. The retreat comprises two spectacular cookery demonstrations, and relaxed discussion on Winter cooking and nutrition. Chi Kung (Qigong) and Meditation also form part of the weekend to create a comprehensive guide to staying healthy with the season that incorporates body, mind, and soul. Daniel Jardim teaches popular cookery retreats and demonstrations around the country with a strong emphasis on staying healthy with the seasons. He created the recipes for ‘The Cake the Buddha Ate‘ and ‘Retreat – the Joy of Conscious Eating‘ (Jacana Media). MORE ABOUT TEMENOS RETREAT, MCGREGOR:

Temenos
Temenos

In the heart of the small town of McGregor, nestled against the verdant slopes of the Langeberg Valley, lies the sacred gardens of Temenos, often referred to as ‘the best kept secret in the Western Cape’. Here, on the site of powerful ancient ley lines where the notion of linear time becomes pleasantly muddled, lies a spiritual sanctuary where you can escape the noise of modern-day life and bask in pure tranquillity.

For anyone in search of beauty and stillness and the delight of losing oneself in the peace of mysterious gardens, this is the place for you. Remarkably uncommercial, this oasis will appeal to anyone seeking a safe and gentle getaway.

Temenos offers beautiful accommodation in its wild and wonderful garden, a wide range of healing therapies and workshops, abundant birdlife, a private lap swimming pool, relaxing libraries and access to private sacred spaces and shrines, a labyrinth and a forested spiral.  Visitors can also enjoy accompanied early morning walks or Yoga, and forl overs of stillness and silence there are two gentle meditation sessions each day which anyone is welcome to join. For delicious meals, the well known restaurant on the premises, Tebaldi`s, offers superb classic and seasonal cuisine.

Temenos embraces an inclusive and universal spirituality. It does not express any specific religious or spiritual path. Here the gentle spirit of acceptance pervades. It is a gently healing space open to everyone, offering an opportunity to experience its gifts of peace, harmony, inspiration and healing.
