Jesse Clegg will be releasing his brand new album in June, entitled, ‘Things Unseen,’ it is the first locally recorded album since his first album, ‘When I Wake Up.’ Jesse Clegg started writing the songs whilst in New York in 2013 and finished all the writing back home in South Africa in his own studio in Johannesburg. Jesse explains how the album was recorded, “It was a fantastic and challenging experience, I wanted to move away from guitar as my primary writing instrument and incorporate new elements. Many of the songs were written with piano and electro soundscapes and rhythms. Technology played a big part in the making of the productions, using the studio as a tool to arrange the music around the emotional quality of the songs. ‘Things Unseen,’ features 10 original tracks, with ‘Use Me’ and ‘Souvenir’ being the first two singles released last year. His latest single, ‘Breathing’ ft. Shekhinah was released in May on 947 & KFM’s #CokeTop40SA chart show to an amazing response, which saw the song play listed immediately.

It has been an exciting time for Ben Dey and The Concrete Lions. Last year December, the band signed with SONY ATV publishing who has elevated the music to a professional level. Their latest single “Easy Love” has since been playlisted on numerous radio stations across South Africa and reached the no 1 position on 5fm`s SA Top 30 Charts. On TUKS FM it remained number 1 on the local Top10 chart for 2 consecutive weeks. On the 24th of June, the band will be heading overseas to open for a well-known UK-based band, Stornoway. They will be playing in London, Brighton and Winchester. Don’t miss them live at Café Roux when they are back on the homefront!

Richard Stirton is the first winner of the South African edition of The Voice. (MNET) Mentored by Kahn Morbee from The Parlotones, Richard won the hearts of his supporters with his gravelly voice and likeable personality.
Richard, 22, hails from the vibrant suburb of Rondebosch, Cape Town. Richard poured all of his focus into sport before turning to music after several sporting injuries halted his sporting progress. Richard’s first solo performance was in the Rondebosch Boys’ High Cabaret when he was 17. After dabbling in theatre, Richard enrolled at the University of Cape Town to commence a degree in Business Science. Music, however, was something that he couldn’t quite give up.
Come 2014, Richard decided to take gap year to pursue his passion for music again. During this time, he worked at Stardust Restaurant as a “singing waiter” for the year and began playing solo gigs by the end of that year. The following year he entered The Voice South Africa, on the encouragement of his friends and family, and after being coached by Kahn Morbee (Parlotones), Richard took the coveted first prize. Following the show, Richard signed a lucrative record deal with Universal Music. Watch his beautiful rendition of ‘Sound of Silence” on The Voice SA: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgb4cNCN-zI

Prime Circle are no strangers to touring and have been continuously raising the bar in efforts to expand their musical horizons and boundaries for many years now. Their upcoming three-piece “STRIPPED” tour is no exception. Ross, Dale and Neil will be embarking on a national tour of difference they say as the music is stripped down to its bare minimum getting to the root of the songs and their stories. The reason for only having the three members and not the usual five is so that the band can get to play more intimate venues, fans will get to see the whites of their eyes as they lay down the music that has been a part of so many people’s lives and experiences. This is definitely a show to watch.
