South Western Districts Cricket recently announced their provincial fixtures and main events for the 2016/17 season.
Besides the main event, the Africa Twenty20 Cup that will be hosted in Oudtshoorn from 16-18 September 2016, SWD will again host the Cricket South Africa Franchise Academies tournament in Oudtshoorn from 24-28 January 2017. The six franchise academies – i.e. the Warriors, Cobras, Lions, Titans, Dolphins and Knights will be in action.
SWD will be, for the first time host a Sunfoil Series four day match when the Cobras will take on the Lions from 5-8 January 2017 in Oudtshoorn. It was also confirmed that the Cobras in Warriors will play in a pre-season warm-up match between 27 September and 1 October in Oudtshoorn. More detail regarding this event will be released soon.
