On 29 September 2016, the Eden DM Council will discuss the possible extension of a Service Level Agreement between PriceWaterhouse Coopers and Eden DM.
Should the extension be approved, PriceWaterhouse Coopers will provide services to Eden DM from October 2016 till June 2017 via a web-based platform that offers the following:
1. An electronic system where all employees submit disclosures on any interest they might have outside of the municipality.
2. Vetting procedure for newly appointed employees.
PriceWaterhouse Coopers has been rendering support to Eden DM for the past two years.
The Municipal Finance Management Act, No 56 of 2003 Section 116 (3) indicates that the following process must be followed:
a) The proposed amendment have been tabled in the council of the municipality; and
b) The local community –
(i) has been given reasonable notice of the intention to amend the contract
(ii) has been invited to submit representations to the municipality

A service level agreement (SLA) is a contract between a service provider and the end user that defines the level of service expected from the service provider.
SLAs are output-based in that their purpose is specifically to define what the customer will receive.
