South Western Districts Cricket is getting ready to host the Oudtshoorn leg of the Africa Twenty 20 Cup that will take place in Oudtshoorn from 16-18 September 2016. This event will be broadcasted live on Supersport on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September.
The production crew of Supersport recently visit Oudtshoorn to address the operational requirements for the first event to be broadcasted live from the Recreation Ground in Oudtshoorn.
We are excited and looking forward to hosting this event, said Albertus Kennedy, the Chief Executive Officer of SWD Cricket. “From a marketing and commercial point of view the two primary objectives will be to ensure that we generate additional revenue and also to ensure a good crowd support for the event”, Kennedy said. SWD Cricket will invest close to R2 million in capital projects at the REC Ground to ensure the professional presentation of the event. We will also have an integrated marketing campaign to bring good crowds to the Recreation Ground. Free entrance will be applicable for all three days.
Mr Rudy Claassen, the President and Chairman of the Board of Directors this week said that the event has strategic advantages for the province and added to that it will be a significant economic boost for the region.
