Two suspects are facing charges for defrauding three Western Cape municipalities.
The Hawks nabbed the pair earlier this week in George.
The suspects had allegedly inflated the successful amount of work done for the Oudtshoorn, Venterdorp and Plettenberg municipalities.
They were contracted to assist in recovering unclaimed Input Vat.
The Hawks’ Lloyd Ramavoha says: “The arrests follow lengthy investigations by Sars. They’re expected to appear in the George Magistrates Court in October 2016 to face charges of fraud as well as contravening Value Added Tax Act.”
