Lanzerac Blanc de Blancs Brut, an MCC perfect for the festive season

What better way than to celebrate the year’s successes and end off on a high note than with a glass of chilled bubbly. Adding something special to the festive season is Lanzerac Wine Estate’s superb Méthode Cap Classique (MCC) which guarantees to be music to the palates of all bubbly aficionados.

1Lanzerac Blanc de Blancs Brut is a premium Stellenbosch MCC made in the traditional Champagne method.  The fruit for this MCC is grown in the quiet vineyards of the Jonkershoek Valley of Stellenbosch, known for its slightly cooler breezes. This provides the ideal terroir for the Chardonnay grapes used in the Blanc de Blancs which accentuates the profoundly flavourful characteristics of early harvested, zesty grapes. The use of whole bunch pressing allows a more delicate extraction and prevents harsher components from being extracted.

This Blanc de Blancs spends at least 18 months on the lees before disgorging. It offers a fresh, aromatic bouquet of lively citrus and apple fruit while the palate displays creamy, biscuit aromas delivering an effervescence vividly pastelled with warm, roasted nuts.

Delicate, dry and crisp, this non-vintage MCC has been described by an influential wine journalist as the most elegant vintage of the millennium thus far. It is the perfect wine to enjoy on its own but will also complement festive foods such as duck liver parfait, smoked salmon or caviar.  For the pièce de résistance the MCC is a match made in culinary heaven when paired with freshly shucked oysters or honey and orange glazed duck.

Add something special to this festive season and get your share of the limited Lanzerac Blanc de Blancs only from their Tasting Room at R220 per bottle. It is the perfect time to stock up for celebrations and gifts alike.
