Eden District Municipality in academic excellence

A certificate handover ceremony was recently held at Eden District Municipality’s (Eden DM’s) Council Chambers on the 13th of October 2016, where 25 officials received their official certificates for studies they completed during the 2015/16 financial year.

Councillor Isaya Stemela, Portfolio Chairperson: Corporate Services, welcomed the beneficiaries and thanked departments for their diligence and hard work. Cllr Stemela called on everyone present to continue to build Eden DM by working together to take the municipality and the district forward.

Ms Trix Holtzhausen, Executive Manager: Corporate-/Strategic Services recognised the “most important people present” – the officials who completed their studies. Ms Holtzhausen gave credit to the Human Resources Training Section, for their commitment towards implementing the Workplace Skills Plan of Eden DM. Eden DM’s Workplace Skills Plan is based on the Personal Development Plans of all Eden DM employees and aligned with the strategic objectives, aligned in the Integrated Development Plan. In addition, Council also has an external bursary policy in place that annually awards financial assistance to serving students, based on an approved criteria. The applications for this bursary scheme will end at the end of October, where after studies for 2017 are approved.
