On 17 November, global golf tourism association, International Association of Golf Tour Operators, named the Western Cape in South Africa the ‘2016 Golf Destination of the Year for Africa and the Gulf States’. Accepting the award on behalf of the province at this prestigious event held in Spain was Fancourt’s Head of Sales and Marketing, Peter Dros.
Established in 2000, the IAGTO Awards aim to recognise brilliance in the golf tourism industry, honouring top performing golf destinations around the world. This year, the Western Cape stood out for its natural beauty, cultural offerings, favourable climate and of course, world-class golfing venues.
