Councillor Memory Booysen – As the Executive Mayor of Eden District Municipality, I say a big well done to all the matriculants who passed their 2016 exams. To the many top achievers in the Eden district, congratulations for your excellent results, we are very proud of you. May this achievement be the first of many.
To those who did not pass, it’s not the end yet, chin up and try again.
Whatever you do, don’t ever give up or quit. You can do it, we believe in you.
To those who are studying further, “vasbyt” and good luck. To those who have perhaps decided to take a gap year or are still deciding on what to do, enjoy the time off and rest up and may your future plans and choices be guided from above.
Historian, Henry B Adams’s, famous quote reads: “A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” In lieu of those true words, let’s not forget to reflect back and say a big “thank you” to all the dedicated teachers, who relentlessly teach and encourage our children throughout their school careers, as well as all the parents and family members who are always there with unconditional love and support.
May 2017 be the year for prosperity and miracles and blessings to all.
