According to Tess Kotze, Kings Beach Water Safety Officer, the 2016 event was well received.  “The event was well organised and catered for the entire family. Our involvement benefitted our club immensely.  We are a voluntary organisation.  The funds received have enabled us to add to the much needed equipment for our lifesavers and nippers. It is an honour and inspiration to be part of the water safety of SA’s premier off-road triathlon.Hosting the XTERRA definitely cemented Port Elizabeth as a fantastic city for iconic events.”

“In 2017 we will once again ensure the safety of entrants,” continues Kotze.  “Our qualified lifesavers will be in the water monitoring the competitors.  We will also make use of boats as an additional safety option.   I would recommend this event to family members and friends.  The beach integrated with the Baakens Valley makes XTERRA Nelson Mandela Bay extra special.”
