Harlequins keep their hopes alive for a place in the play-off rounds of the Sedgars SWD Premier League with two bonus point victories over the weekend – including a surprise 6 wicket victory against the log leaders and defending champions, Union Stars.

On Saturday Harlequins posted 212/9 and thereafter dismissed Mossel Bay for 143 for a 69 runs victory. On Sunday they bowled out Union Stars for 84 and thereafter only needed 15.3 overs to reach the winning target (85/4) for a 6 wicket victory. Ramblers (101 all out) recorded a nail-biting 11 runs victory against Western Hope (90 all out) in spite of an outstanding bowling performance from Donovan Gelant (7/40) for Western Hope. For Ramblers Nkululeko Serami (5/31) produced a match winning bowling performance.
In all the other matches – rain that started around noon – prevented any results and teams shared the match points (two each). According to the playing conditions both teams must bat for a minimum of twenty overs to constitute a result.
