The South Western Districts Cricket team will be hoping improve their results in the Sunfoil Cup Cricket South Africa Provincial competition when they take on Northern Cape in in Oudtshoorn this weekend. The Sunfoil Cup Three day match will start on Thursday and the limited over match will be contested on Sunday.
The men from the Southern Cape has now lost five matches on a row and will hope to turn their fortunes with eight matches (four three day and four one day) remaining for the season. The bad news is that Andrea Agathagelou, the SWD batting hero for the season has fractured his finger and will not be available for selection. The wicket keeper/batsman, Brendon Louw, is currently is top form and the batting department will be keen to support him.
The SWD team for the weekend will be selected from the following players: Neil Hornbuckle, Murray Commins, Hanno Kotze, Jongile Kilani, Brendon Louw, Jean du Plessis, Chris Marrow, Grant Esau, Siyabonga Booi, Glenton Stuurman, Gurshwin Rabie (captain), Marcello Piedt, Otneill Baartman, Mthobeli Bandingawo, Mafinke Serami, Justin Jordaan, Todd Walker, Levin Muller and Nelson Setimani.
The Northern Cape team is Kagisho Pedi, Lotli Sesele, Jacques Snyman, Aubrey Swanepoel (Captain), Diego Rosier, Thumelo Bodibe, Warren Bell, Corné Dry, Aiden Brooker, Kagisho Mohale, Akhona Kula and Cloete Buitendach (12th man)
