Ticket sales are open for River Republic 2017 and Up the Creek 2018

While we are getting ready for snuggly winter fires, Red Hot Events is working around the seasons to make sure that the most fantastic summer river-party-getaways await you at the end of the tickly pokes of “lets-get-out-and-have-some-fun” spring fever.

Renowned for the organising of Up The Creek, one of the Western Cape`s most loved music festivals, the Red Hot Events team also introduced a wild and wonderful new boutique-festival two years ago, Savanna presents River Republic. Ticket sales for both Savanna presents River Republic 2017 and Up the Creek 2018 are now open:

SAVANNA presents RIVER REPUBLIC 24 – 26 NOVEMBER 2017

Venue: Round the Bend Lodge, Breede River.

Held on the banks of the Breede River, let our hidden paradise take you away from the busy streets of the city.

Escape to the River Republic. A place where time slows and feet are moved by the rhythm of the river, and the movements of the sun. Where people laugh and scream and dance and dream, and there’s no hate or sadness or horror or badness, just joy and electro, and light and delight. Catch your most loved local musicians, both DJs and bands, and play chess on a dance floor quite chequered and grand. Meet new people and make friends for life, and for a while forget your city strife. Let the music keep playing with a shake and a shiver, and you’ll be ever so grateful you escaped to the river.

Artists announced so far: Nomadic Orchestra, Mobbing Bali, Jak Skandi and MT Seas. More artist announcements to be made during the month of May.

UP THE CREEK FESTIVAL 25 – 28 JANUARY 2018

Venue: Breede River.

Since the summer of 1990 Up The Creek festival has been hosted at Up The Creek River Camp, set between a dirt road and the welcoming waters of the Breede River. With various stages, including the unique river stage at the water`s edge, you are guaranteed to be entertained throughout the weekend. Although Rock `n Roll is the original stamp of choice, there are also different types of music mixed into the line-up including pop, some indie folk, a couple of DJ acts and the odd violin solo on top of a kombi!

Jeffrey the Jam Van will be on standby to entertain you before the Main Stage kicks off and the Sedgwick`s Old Brown Food Court stage will be running in the mornings and afternoons to showcase new and upcoming artists.

While the festival is one of the few remaining that still allows you to camp next to your car (should you choose) there is also a greener campsite where no cars are allowed or you can book pre-pitched tented accommodation at www.heartbreakmotel.co.za

It doesn`t matter if you have big biceps or skinny jeans, or an ironic moustache, or a non-ironic one. At Up The Creek you can be yourself and still make friends.

Ticket price: R1,030 (excluding booking fees) – only full weekend tickets available.
