Winter is here and what better way to brave the icy weather than with a glass of red wine next to a cosy fireplace, or at the dinner table enjoying a hearty meal. Look no further than the Jason’s Hill Shiraz 2013 for the ideal winter wine companion.
This full-bodied wine is a rich red plum colour with an abundance of fruity flavours. A complex wine with smoky and earthy aromas allowing for a velvety texture and spicy smoky finish. Matured in small 1st, 2nd and 3rd fill French and American oak barrels for 14 months before bottling the wine is ready to drink now, but will reach its full drinking potential if left to age for a further eight to 10 years.
The Shiraz 2013 can be enjoyed on its own but you’ll be forgiven for wanting another glass when paired with a soul comforting Cape Malay dish, hearty Oxtail casserole and even a juicy hamburger.
The Jason’s Hill Shiraz 2013 is available directly from the Tasting Room at R88 per bottle, or select retail outlets nationwide.
