Lace up your winter trainers for the Steenberg Charity Trail Run

Get ready to wine your way through undulating Constantia vineyards at the 5th Steenberg Charity Trail Run on Saturday, 12 August 2017.

Held annually come rain or shine at Steenberg Vineyards, the trail run takes you on a 5km or 10km loop to run or walk amidst the winter vines. The event raises funds for Mdzananda Vet Clinic in Khayelitsha, a community project that cares for sick and abandoned cats and dogs. Trail runners and walkers are welcome to drop off leashes, blankets, dog or cat food and other pet items in the donation box prior to the start.

All participants receive a glass of Steenberg Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc at the finish and can enjoy a free wine tasting with 10% off on all wine purchases from the cellar door on the day. A host of great prizes sponsored by Adidas, Cape Waterfront Estates, Steenberg Hotel & Spa, Bistro Sixteen82 and Catharina’s will be up for grabs.

The entry fee is R130 per trail runner/walker, R50 for teens aged 12-17, while children under 12 have free entry. Water and wine refreshment stations will be available en route and breakfast treats and refreshments can be purchased before the start and during the course of the morning. If you prefer a more formal breakfast at Catharina’s or Bistro Sixteen82, be sure to book early.

Registration for the Steenberg Charity Trail Run opens at 07h00 outside Bistro Sixteen82. The briefing takes place 15-minutes ahead of the start at 08h00. Pre-booking is essential and can be done online at https://www.quicket.co.za/events/30786-steenberg-trail-run/
