In a new deal for cycling races under their umbrella, ASG Events have announced a sponsorship agreement with Bidvest Car Rental set to benefit both parties.
The partnership will see the Johannesburg-based rental company, who are already involved with the RoadCover team, extend their cycling sponsorship portfolio.
Bidvest sales and marketing executive Gaynor von Loggenburg said they had a strong sports footprint as they were the official car rental suppliers to both SA Rugby and Cricket SA.
“Becoming involved with ASG Events is broadening the exposure of our brand in the ever-growing cycling arena. In addition, we are supporting something our customers are passionate about.”
Von Loggenburg said sports sponsorship had been an integral part of their strategy to build the Bidvest Car Rental brand since their launch.
She said it was their first involvement with events of this nature and that they would add value to the ASG races by offering competitive rates for rentals at the various events.
As part of a re-branding strategy, she added that their ultimate objective was to provide a professional and innovative approach, aimed at satisfying all their customers’ needs.
“We saw this as an opportunity to be even more entrepreneurial, streamlined and helpful,” said Von Loggenburg.
“Our mantra of ‘because every minute counts’ is not just an attitude. It’s an appreciation that efficiency is a key driver and that we understand that whether you are on business or on holiday, every minute of your journey is important.
“So while our focus has been on ensuring a seamless transition for our customers, we have been working hard behind the scenes to deliver a quick and efficient car rental experience.”
ASG Events operations manager Darren Herbst said the partnership with Bidvest Car Rental would be a massive help given the logistics they faced with each event.
“Their sponsorship includes support along the routes, assisting with the requirements of big cycle races and supporting ASG Events in general.”
He said they and Bidvest Car Rental had some exciting products in the pipeline, which would be of benefit to cyclists entering ASG races.
“We will be rolling out a number of attractive options when it comes to bookings and car rentals, so this can only be a win-win situation for all parties.”
