An Author from South Africa has Penned Heart-warming Picture Book That Teaches Us The Importance of Being Kind to One Another.
Cape Town author Gillian Leggat is set to publish her book at the end of this month; Star Bright is an inspirational picture book to enlighten and encourage people.
Laura feels sorry for Gloria, the new girl at school. But although everyone either teases or ignores her, she tries so hard to smile.
Things change for the better when one night, something amazing happens to Laura as she looks out of the window. And it’s all because of a star. One with a difference. One that will inspire her to shine like Jesus.
Star Bright is an imaginative, heart-warming story that will appeal to children of all ages.
She says: “Because there are so many outsiders, children being left out, teased, bullied, I wanted Gloria to be a shy girl with whom nobody would associate. Laura, however, a sensitive child is encouraged to show kindness towards her by the brightest star in the heavens. There are courageous children who can, like Jesus, be an inspiration to others. I wanted to show how small acts of kindness can have amazingly positive results.”
Gillian Leggat is a prolific author of children’s books. She has been published in various genres, including young adult, romance, and textbooks for high school English students. She has taught in a number of different high schools and is currently running adult writing courses and tutoring students preparing for their IG and AS examinations in English. Gillian lives in Cape Town, is widowed, and has three grown-up children.
