A World Record Breaking attempt, to crowdfund for Autism

As a child Russell Fox was born with an array of life challenges, Epilepsy, Asthma, Dyslexia, ADHD and at the start of his schooling career, he was hit with the discovery of mental disorder that declared him ‘uneducable’. Russell looked at the odds stacked against him and was determined to come out on top.

Today Russell is a thriving businessman and an Internationally Acclaimed Master in the art of Magic, Illusion, Perceptionism’ and Mentalism and has performed numerous times on an international stage.

Understanding adversity and what it means to be underestimated, Russell will perform a Guinness Book of records attempt to raise funds and awareness for children with autism, who find themselves in a similar position.

On the 3rd to 4th of November, Russell will take on a 32km broken-glass trail barefoot at the V&A Waterfront, to raise funds for Cape Town based Non-profit organization, Nosh For Josh, who focus on those affected with Autism, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Muscular Dystrophy. In order to earn the Glass Walker Title, the challenge will need to completed in under 29 hours.

This event aims to raise R500 000 for Nosh for Josh to send as many Autistic children as possible for a Stem Cell Therapy Operation in India at the NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute, proven to be 91% effective in curing the illness. Excluding flight costs, this procedure alone is calculated at R150 000-00 per operation.

With additional funding Nosh for Josh hopes to establish a Centre for workshops, mentoring and training, providing children with life skills and also mentor parents who have children with special needs.
