Get ready for a feast of risotto when chef-proprietor Giorgio Nava teams up with two young Italian chefs from Milan for a 4-week Autumn Risotto Pop Up at 95 Keerom in the Mother City.
Chefs Nicoló Rovarini and Federico Rocca, who are relocating to Cape Town to open their own restaurant, Riva, will be creating a once-off risotto menu starting on Monday, 9 April till Saturday, 5 May. With 16 different masterly prepared risotto dishes on offer – four per night, changing weekly – you’ll want to try them all.
Risotto is the perfect autumn comfort food – rich, earthy, warm and nurturing for when the cooler weather begins to blanket the city.
The Autumn Risotto Pop Up will showcase different kinds of risotto rice prepared in a wide variety of authentic ways, as handed down in Italian families over many generations. The classic risotto alla milanese with saffron, the equally famous Italian mushroom risotto, risotto with butternut and goats’ cheese, delicious asparagus risotto with prawns or crispy pancetta, or heavenly risotto with mascarpone and walnuts, are just some of the tasty gems that await you.
