Keep cozy this Winter with Bellevue reds

Winter is here, which brings with it cozy fireplaces, comfort food and of course robust red wines to keep away the chill.

What better way to enjoy this chilly season than with two stellar reds from Bellevue Estate. Stock up your cellar with the Bellevue “1953” Pinotage 2016 and the Malbec 2014, both guaranteed to be the envy of your friends when you next invite them round for dinner.

The Bellevue “1953” Pinotage 2016 is the culmination of decades of hard work in both the vineyard and the cellar. The wine derives its name from the fact that this particular vineyard was planted in 1953. This Pinotage block has been cultivated as a dry land vineyard for the past 64 years, with drip irrigation only installed in May 2017 to help the vines in dry spells as experienced in recent years. Described as a “classy Pinotage”, the wine’s nose is packed with aromas of plums and maraschino cherries. This follows through on the palate, showing serious refinement, purity of fruit and great complexity and length. The mouthfeel and finish convey integrated, fine-grained tannins partnered by concentrated fruit flavours which linger. Available directly from the Tasting Room at R545 per bottle this wine pairs perfectly with game and lamb dishes.

Complete your Bellevue wine collection with the popular Malbec 2014. This Winter warmer showcases fruity aromas on the nose intermingled with rosemary, mint and fynbos. These flavours carry through to the palate which results in the perfect food wine to enjoy with spicy foods, roasted meat dishes as well as Thai and Middle Eastern food. Available directly from the Tasting Room at R110 per bottle.
