G&B Labour Law Seminar 2018

The Employment Law Department of Garlicke and Bousfield Inc hosted a breakfast seminar on Wednesday 13th June which afforded the opportunity for the firm’s clients to be introduced to the employment law team, which has welcomed young and vibrant professionals over the past couple of years.

The team members, who now are Raymond Meneses, Bongani Mgaga, Sane Nyasulu, Chuma Vabaza and Yanda Ngwane, were keen to ‘touch base’ with clients in a setting other than a courtroom and after a hearty buffet breakfast there were short presentations on Mediation, reinstatement and competent remedy for unfair labour practice; Can you discipline an employee who has resigned? and the Employment of foreign nationals in South Africa. It was generally agreed that the presentation on the employment of foreign nationals had been a real ‘eye opener’.  The Employment Law Team intend to make this an annual event in order to keep their clients informed on trends and developments in employment law and industrial relations.
