Knysna & Zoar children to receive new shoes

#1MillionSchoolShoes will, on Saturday 25 August 2018, hand over 400 school shoes to learners from various schools in the Central Karoo district as part of its Nelson Mandela Centenary School Shoes Campaign.

The non-profit organisation based in Pretoria works nationally to support vulnerable children with school shoes. In 2017 the organisation handed over thousands of school shoes to learners around the country.

The organisation conducts various social media campaigns to appeal for donations of school shoes, which are then distributed to deserving leaners.

Campaign chairperson, Roleta Lebelo said they are delighted to visit the Central Karoo to conduct the third handover this year. “With poverty and unemployment rife in such areas, it stands to reason that many learners, who often have to walk long distances do so bare footed. This is why such a campaign is so crucial and we are for ever grateful to our sponsor Murray &Roberts for making it possible.” she said.

The hand-over events are scheduled as follows:

Saturday, 25 August 2018

10:30 Hornlee Primay School, Knysna: 100 learners

14:00, Mexis Hall, Zoar: 300 learners
